As a former Farm Equipment Factory Rep, former Independent Auto repair shop owner, and Now a Field Service Technician; I have learned how to spot the best dealers.
1) Find out where your Local Body shops get their OEM Chrysler parts and where your Independent Auto shops get theirs as well. Since they deal with dealers on a regular basis, they have done all the dirty work of sorting out the Jerks that charge inflated prices and offer poor service.
2) Look and see what dealers have vans that deliver the body parts to the body shops, these dealers are serious about good service and will pay competent people to do the work.
3) Look at what the techs drive, you want to see tricked out Jeeps, Dodge pickups, or other tricked out Chrysler products. This will weed out the dealers with the plug in the OBD II and pray technicians who don't have any of the expertise to think out side of the scanner.
4) Check out for an Independent who loves Diesels and has some parked in the lot for regular service, they will know how diesels work. You will be better of with an Independent who drives a Diesel pickup than a OBD II tech who can't change a flat tire with out one.

I found an independent with a mobile service who works on diesel fleet vehicles. The owner's toy project is some sort of racing dune buggy he built with a Chrysler hemi.

I downloaded the Jeep's service manuals from the Colorado guys' website. No reason to ever return to the dealer for me.

I deal with Engineers on a regular basis, those who were always stuck in the house as children lack common sense and make a lot of stupid errors, some of these errors cost lives.
It is a pleasure to work with an engineer who has an out door hobby, because I do not need to explain the obvious and they are always looking for a way to learn more to make them better instead of being some one who knows it all.
Lack of common sense learned by playing out side as a child can cause other people in other professions to make stupid errors as well, some of them can cost people their lives.

When looking for a dealer to service your CRD the easiest way to find a dealer that has a faint clue as to what is under your hood, try to find a Jeep/Dodge dealer that sells a lot of Cummins diesel trucks. They normally are the dealers that specialize in fleet trucks or are located in rural farming areas. If you take it to a Chrysler / Jeep dealer that doesn't sell the Dodge Cummins pickups the reaction is ... "hey its one of those diesel things"
