LOST JEEPS :: View topic - Questions on Carfax for CRD I'm wanting to buy

The heater motor was a recall and it was replaced. But there was also a recall for the lower ball joints and they are not listed. Now some owners didn't want more of the same crap and installed aftermarket MOOG greasable ball joints and that may be why they are not listed. But I would think that would be listed as a outstanding recall. Window regulators are not just a jeep problem, they are a industry problem but that one seems to have more then it's share of them. It looks like they were shot gunning a crusie control problem for the last one. There has been a number of flashes for various things, more then are listed there.
Only the first and maybe last are CRD specific.

Hi all, Wasn't sure if some of these Carfax report items were peculiar to the CRD or the KJ in general. I am looking at 2006 4x4 CRD, 62k miles. I pulled carfax and all this stuff showed up. I looked into window regulators, that seems common. Is this unusual? Any hint as to why there are so many electronics related items or anything I should watch out for before I consider buying? Only the first and maybe last are CRD specific. How many miles? Some '06 KJ's are not part of the last LBJ recall as they came from the factory with the "updated" LBJ's already installed.

How much did carfax get from you? I found them unwilling to negotiate and selling vehicles with a hefty premium.

I've got an 06 4x4 CRD Limited I bought "new". Has 65.2k miles on it. Has had all the TSB's done. 2 left rear wndow reg's replaced. Other than that, been on many long trips with it. Back to MO. and upper state WA. No. CA. many times, snow, rail, hail, ice. Very happy with it. One thing is I always have stayed on top of all maintenance items.

Sounds like a lot of electrical problems with radio replaced, mirror switch, battery only lasted 2 or 3 years, ecu replaced, several window regulators. Makes me wonder what is going bad next.
