I have tested for 5000 miles a new setup and, here it is. Motor Guard corp. Model-D12-2 Disposable spray gun filter work very well. No bulky mounts or hose routing required just a couple of brass fittings to get to 3/4" hose size and, fit it in. I have checked the Map sensor prior to and, after the 5000 mile test and, still clean so nothing gets by but, air. I cannot seem to get the pictures to load up or I would send them also as this is a good idea and, cheap. |

But some of us collect a fair amount of oil as it blows by and a filter like this could plug up in a short time. |

Two question on this filter: How much oil would it hold before clogging? What happens if they do clog? If they're cheap enough and wouldn't clog up in less than ....say 5,000 miles, it could be easily changed as part of a normal oil change service. Thinking about it, if one could mount it so that free oil could drip back into the engine....might extend the life of the filter??? |

Might work in Texas as long as the Mini Ice Age does not give you Midwest winters. In the Northern Winter, it would tend freeze up from the Green House Gas that forms from combustion and gets past the piston rings called Synthetic Di-Hydrogen Monoxide (WATER  ). Canadian members have reported even Provent freeze up from ICE. I plan to redesign mine so it sits on top of the valve cover and drains back into the engine. The Puck on top is E-FFed to say the least. |

good post.. but for me it raises a question? could we not come up with a way to create a vacuum, post turbo, and connect this line to it? this would draw the fumes out of the engine and dump them into the 'HOT' exhaust. where they're burnt.. just wondering.. I have 2 vehicles that could use this. a Jeep and a Dodge pickup... both at the moment dump into the air.. -dkenny |

I think one must be careful here as you can generate a very high vacuum with an eductor type of an arrangement....do we want a high negative pressure in out crankcase?? |
