Hey guys,

I'm selling my black 05' CRD.

Image

Just got done finishing the ad on craigslist. I will be posting it on a few other sites this week too. Have a look, tell me what you think, and if I missed anything. I appreciate it. If you are interested, give me a shout.

Here's the link:
http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/2187645010.html

I'm still trying to figure out how much it's worth. I've only been able to find (3) in the entire northwest for a local price comparison.

Jack

Look's good and priced right for someone who wants a CRD in great shape. Hold your price, you'll get the right buyer.

Based on the condition and lower miles, the price seems fair. What will be the new method of transportation? another diesel maybe...

You might check your Craigslist posting from time to time. Craigslist has been "ghosting" some of my ads which had large photos, hypertext, and links. The ad will appear when linked from your account, but won't show up in the listings or be searchable by others. I'd be interested to see what your rig sells for, since I may be selling mine in a few months. I've only seen a couple of CRDs in Portland: a black one was on SW Bonita a few months ago. It was putting out black smoke when accelerating.

I ended up selling it for $13k, and it took over a month. It was a 2005 with 64k miles. I noticed in the latest issue of Diesel Power that they bought one, half as many miles as mine for $14k. I was asking $14k on mine.

Not sure if it's that the average price of fuel has risen 38 cents in 3 weeks (thank you Libya) but at times it felt like I was trying to unload a boat anchor. Every buyer seemed to be stunned and disappointed when I would answer their question on MPG.

I replaced the CRD with the vehicle I had before the CRD. 2006 Jetta TDI 5 speed manual. I had a lot of time to reflect on how much I enjoyed getting twice the fuel economy in addition to a sporty ride. After owning a handful of diesels, bang for the buck I would buy the 2006 jetta a 3rd time if given the chance. I would have valued 5k towing and 4WD if I tended to take advantage of them more often. 44MPG is something I take advantage of, on my commute, every single day
