I'm installing a new fuel filter head and included wiring right now...but there are NO instructions included and I don't know which wires to splice to which! The old heater plug has red/black. The new one has purple/green. What goes with what??

Doesn't matter, a heater is a heater and there's no polerization (sp?) just make sure your splicing in to the heater and not the sensor

Match the thickness of the wires, don't go by color.

If you try to match color, it will drive you nuts.

The factory wire assembly people must have been on some psychedelic drug that day because no two wire assemblies have the same color wire.

So match the thickness of the wires instead of color and you’ll be fine, that's how most of us did it and it works.

See picture at the bottom of http://www.greendieselengineering.com/f ... st/76.page

It's how stoutdog and I wired our new filter heads in January 2010, no problems since.

Ok thanks. Got that job done. It wasn't too bad.

Now, the timing belt and water pump and the new CV shaft/intermediate shaft on the other hand....that was a total nightmare.
