Post subject:  P1205 and U0186 codes with check engine light on, Need help

Need your help, again!

My check engine light is on, and i did the on/off key switch thing to obtain the following
codes: P1205 and U0186

Here's what i found so far:

P1205: Injector Classification Failure

Some say that the 2 last digits are inversed, so i check the P1250: Vacuum Reservoir Control Circuit Open

U0186: Lost Communication With Audio Amplifier "A"

Few weeks ago, all the dashboard lights went on and the tach and speedo stopped working...
I restarted the jeep and everything is back to normal since then. It may be related to the code?

Thank you very much

Ok, i check the list on LOST http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=40073

and it looks like it is really the P1250 (P1250-VACUUM RESERVOIR SOLENOID OPEN CIRCUIT .) instead of P1205...

This code is often related to the P0299 (turbo boost), but i don't have this code.

Anyway, i will read the other related posts to see what i can find on the vacuum reservoir..!

But if you know something else, don't hesitate!

thanks

ok, so how can i only get the p1250 code without having the P0299??

I understand that the P1250 say that the circuit is open, but if it is open, i should have no boost?

am i missing something?

I recently had a similar code (P1252), which I understand would lead to the same problem (uneven throttle). I replaced the solenoid vacuum pump and problem fixed. Yours may be pointing at an open connection (wire, fuse if any?). Here's a suggestion posted by Keith (GDE) in response to my problem:

By-passing of the on/off solenoid is very straight forward. Trace the vacuum line output from the black plastic reservoir to the input of the on/off solenoid. Remove this vacuum line and plug it directly into the turbo EVM on the port labeled "VAC". The turbo EVM is the one with the blue rubber isolator and vacuum line running directly to turbo.

About your lit-up cluster and dead instruments, have a close look at your wiring harness, especially around the fuel filter and ECM connector. You may have a chaffed wire or flaky connection...

Bonne chance!

Are you sure that is 1250 and not 1205. I don't have my manual handy, but 1205 is a fuel system code.

If you have the 2006 manual it has a more complete list of codes. I'll check it when I get home tonight.

Never mind, just downloaded the manual, and there is no 1205

bugnout: it is 1205 but with the key switch trick... Iread that you have to inversed the 2 last digits if your code come from the key trick.... so it's 1250

dynopax: thank you, i will check what Keith said..
