Well I had to cross an International border and drive 650 miles to buy my CRD. First impression, it was worth the effort. Kind of scary driving that far to buy a vehicle sight unseen... but my faith in mankind was not tested. The seller was an honest, stand up guy and he represented the Jeep accurately. I bought the Euro TC on the way home and the ECU is enroute to GDE already. Can't wait to drive it with the upgrades. Also, on first tank of fuel doing 75 mph under very windy and freezing conditions the Jeep returned 21 mpg.

That takes some passion to do a thing like that. CRDs are like Harley's, Corvettes, John Deere's etc. We are in a cult where we bought our vehicle to do more then go from point A to point B. I would say being a unique or iconic type of vehicle you have a better chance that some one really cared for it, where as being a gasser, they are a dime a dozen and easily replaced.

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. 60 miles north of the Can-U.S. border,(above North Dakota). I often ask myself why I live here!!!

4 wheel drive will get used often. :D

Your only a couple of hours away from me, but it's been awhile since being in your neck of the woods. :)

650 isn't too far to go.

Thanks for the welcome. This site was a huge factor in my decision to buy a CRD. Thanks to everyone who posts "how to info" and fixes. Tony

Congratulations! I flew 1200 miles to be picked up by the seller to by my CRD...it was a little scary. When you first hop in it sure sounds like a beast. Enjoy it especially once you get the tune.

Welcome and congrats on the Jeep. what tune did you order? with a euro TC on the way I would have got the ECO full torque or hot tune. I have the Eco tune. it changed the Jeeps behaviour so much. it drives so smooth, acceleration is faster smoother and turbo lag is not noticable at all. Feul use is a little better around town and much better on highway since the tune.

I opted for the HOT Tune. Going to be tough to stay out of the throttle... but I'm going to try.

Once you get the tune your fuel mileage is sure to go down :-)r
Once you get used to it and drive normally you'll be a happy camper :SOMBRERO:

Yes I would have to agree with flman!
We do tend to be a passionate lot when it comes to our CRD's :D
I guess that's why I sorry to see a CRD leave the US. Nothing personal It's just with our EPA it's difficult to get a diesel Jeep here in the first place. Welcome and looking forward to hearing your experiences especially from that far north. I thought NY was cold. I like to run on biodiesel which can make cold weather a challenge.
