Businessweek has surprised me with the fair coverage it is giving diesel.

Probably helped a lot that the writer was a prior diesel owner and compared to the 6.2 mentioned, the CRD must be an abosolute dream :D

Anyway, always glad to see good press !

Nice article, the only thing I take issue with is the cramped feeling. I came from a full size pickup and yes ut does feel smaller. However I drove every midsized pickup and suv before buying the liberty and the KJ was one of the few vehicles that I could actually put my arm between my body and the door and drive that way. Every other vehicle I would have had to rest my arm on the window ledge to drive.

I think he means 2WD only, no 4WD ,as in for better mileage. :)

Aah like the wife's 87 Cherokee with the solid front axle, and 2wd only.

KJBOB that is a good point and yes it is much roomer the the wife's 02 Jetta TDI, but it is still tough on me when I am use to the Magnum. That is like coming from S Class MB to a Liberty, a Passat doen't even come close to Magnum in smoothness, handling and comfort. I just hope they have diesel version for '07 or '08 model year, then I will be in hog heaven.

< The Liberty diesel is constrained by the limitations of it aged, off-road-centric foundation, but . . . >

And I hope Jeep will ALWAYs and forever have those "limitations". Off-road-centric is the reason for Jeep.

Heck I thought he was talking about old farts like me, I am too worn out and messed up to enjoy off roading any more. I do have fond memory's of my '86 CJ7 though, I embarrassed more then one Toyota, Ford or Chevy owner. Never met a 4x4 Dodge in woods.
