Delay in CRD acceleration

Last week I did the EHM, changed the oil with Rotella and got my transmission serviced. Ever since, when I accelerate aggressively there is a 2 second delay until the engine catches up with the gas pedal. The oil level is fine and I can't see how the EHM could cause this, so I can only think that my transmission shop caused this somehow. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas?

I may experience the same thing you are experiencing, but I have attributed it to the turbo spooling up. After that short pause off the line my backside is pressed into the seat my my head against the headrest. :BANANA:

Wondering if it could be fuel related, when was the fuel filter changed?

I installed the upgraded fuel head/filter yesterday, hoping that it would fix the problem. It did not

I replaced my fuel filter <1000 miles ago. I bled the air as instructed as well.

Was it doing the hesitation before you had trans. serviced? The EHM and oil change wouldn't effect anything. I would suspect something happened when you had trans. serviced. Maybe they bumped a wire loose or something or could be an adjustment in the trans. they didn't do right. Might also try some fuel treatment.

Your problem sounds like a classic case of air in the fuel :frankie:

Many noob's blame the fuel head for all air leaks. But those of us who have been around longer know the plastic clips connectors with "O" ring seals back by the tank are the biggest cause :BANANA:

Mine would sometimes hesitate badly back when it was new and I ended up putting a intank lift pump in. CRD's don't have turbo lag when they get enough fuel.

Now to your transmission. Yes it could be an adjustment all right but the transmission does them automatically and it sounds like who ever did your fluid change didn't preform a quick learn :-)r

I'm assuming you've verified the fluid level is correct, right :seuss:

I think you must of bumped something loose when you did the EHM. Hook it back up to stock and see if the problem goes away. Severe turbo lag not fuel or transmission but maybe lack of air flow.

This happened to me as well after doing the EHM mod but I also get the CEL light and falt code p 0235. been working on this problem for a while now but cant seem to crack it, I was going to try a lift pump in the tank but these seem to be all discontinued or the PSI out put is to great, has any one else any ideas!! :banghead:

Is the lag in engine rpm or in vehicle acceleration? If the former, rule out the transmission.

A dirty MAP sensor can increase turbo lag, according to the Newbie Guide.

Not likely that the MAP sensor is already clogged up, then.

Per the FSM, 'Driveability Concerns Turbo':

1. Vacuum hose disconnected Check connections, replace as
necessary
2. Vacuum system leaks. Inspect for damage. Check for
leaks, replace as necessary
3. Boost pressure solenoid filter clogged . Replace the filter

Is it possible that a vacuum line was disconnected or pinched when installing the elephant hose?

For what it's worth. I'm not that familiar with the EHM but did you plug what you disconnected the hose from? More to the point, perhaps, have you completely checked the air box to turbo, turbo to intercooler and intercooler to engine hoses for holes/tears? The factory ones are prone to failure due to excessive oil soaking.
