Post subject:  Random Vacationing Turbo Help

Since late January I have randomly been experiencing the turbo not engaging. This has typically occured on rainy or humid days in 40 degree weather. Shutting down and restarting seems to cure it. I have checked the error codes and mostly I get the ghost code of P0000. Once I got a P0040 for the O2 sensor but since I noticed that code on a random check I can't say for certain that it was related to the turbo not engaging.

This seems like it is a sensor or an electrical issue more than a turbo issue. Has anyone else had a similar issue and found a solution?

Thanks in advance.

I had the vacuum reservoir solenoid go bad on mine and effect the turbo. Mine was shorted but I guess it could stick internally without codes.

Thanks...did it go all at once or was it intermittant?

GDE has posted a way of bypassing that valve by moving the vacuum lines to trouble shoot it :BINGO:

Of course I am not sure that is what is keepiing my turbo from spooling. I guess I could try that to test it but it is intermittant. Thanks for letting me know though Joe.
