EGR Valve Location?

Hi, I did a search but didn't find any info on where the EGR valve is located. I want to clean it but don't know where it is mounted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just did this job on my CRD and it is not trivial. The EGR is just above the starter on the drivers side of the motor. You can feel it but you can not see it.

I see you have a GDE tune and am curious why you need to clean it?

I wanted to make sure that the EGR is closed. My CRD has close to 100k, so even with the GDE Tune I wanted to be sure it is closed. Let me know if that is unlikely, and I won't mess with it. Thanks.

Typically if the EGR is stuck open you will have rough or no idle. The normal failure for this valve is stuck closed.
