I got under the libby and noticed the tranny cooler line on driver side is leaking by the radiator. Anyone know anything about about this?

If you can pinpoint the puncture to the cooler, unless being OK to actually remove and replace/repair a unit comprising the AC condensor, then your best bet would be to reroute to an aftermarket trans fluid cooler. Then again, if it's at the fittings or hose, you need only to repair/replace those...

The stock trans cooler is marginal if you tow in hot weather with out having an aluminum pan. This morning when I drove to Midway Airport from my house in Aurora, IL, I had 140F with my extra big (made for the 68RFE) PML pan and a stock trans cooler. Plan to put in an aftermarket plate type cooler this summer, just remember we have 3/8" lines not the 5/16" lines other auto transmissions use. Use the 5/16" lines, you can trash your trans, not worth screwing it up.

zrtwooo the tranny cooler is integrated with the AC condensor I believe, esssentially the bottom part. If your leak is in the lines to or from the cooler just cut out and replace the leaking portion of the line if tightening the fittings doesn't solve your problem. I don't know what type of fitting clamps there are down there and am to lazy to crawl under my CRD but be advised spring clamps can loose their spring and the fix is to replace with stainless steel worm clamps. If the leak is in the fitting where the line connects to the tranny cooler or the cooler itself you might be able to fix the leak with epoxy putty but if not the simple and relatively inexpensive fix is to just disconnect both tranny cooler lines from the OEM cooler, plug the connection holes to the cooler or not your call, install an aftermarket tranny cooler, hook your lines to that cooler, drive like normal although you may need to add a bit of extra fluid to fill the new cooler (be sure to use ATF+4 spec tranny fluid not some universal "stuff") . This essentially does away with the OEM cooler thus avoiding an expensive replacement or difficult install if DYI. A good aftermarket tranny cooler will provide all the cooling you need with or without the OEM cooler being in the circuit so to speak.
