twice in the last few days i have have the dreaded no start issue, turn key and 'click'.
one was after a hot shutdown when coming home from work commute. The other was after the truck sat at work for 10 hours.
both times i needed a boost to get the truck started. I had originally thought the crank position sensor was to blame, but after getting the one year old battery tested, (they found several internal shorts) I was able to rule out the sensor. The alternator is new and was tested as well, so was the starter.
Bought a brand new 1000 CA (800 CCA) battery and installed it. Truck fires right up with authority
still have a hot start issue sometimes due to the air in the lines (RACOR filter head soon to be installed as well as a lift pump).
check your batteries and have them tested before getting dirty and poor replacing the crank sensor.
hope this helps.
