Gents, found a turbo for sale locally and I am wondering what is a reasonable price for a backup just in case mine fails. Says never leaked oil and has had it on the shelf for a year. Oh and its out of an 06 with 10k, im told.

Best price for NEW I've seen recently is hovering in the $1200 area, I bought one direct from a dealer friend 2 years ago for $700. I would say that anything less than $700 is a great deal. If the spindles rotate smoothly without any shaft play (the extreme tiniest movement is normal) then it should be great.

There are still unknowns with any used part. $300 to $500 is about all we would pay for a slightly used turbo from a KJ CRD.

I have seen CRD remans for ~$750

Look on the bright side, if you have one on the shelf, you will never need it.

I love to take advantage of that Murphy's Law.
Quickest way to get through traffic is to take a good magazine article with you to read at stops.
Also, the better the article, the fewer/shorter the stops you will make. :SOMBRERO:
