Starting to repair head on 2006, replacing exhaust valves and cleanup. One old glow plug hex part has broken off, threads still in head. Makes me angry because I could see the tip was turning and snap. Best way to go about removing? Soaking in PB now.

There's a special tool for getting broken glow plugs out. No personal experience but I'm sure there's good info here at LOST.

I've had good luck with left handed drill bits for backing broken bolts out. It's a riskier business on an aluminum head with delicate threads. Maybe try it with a hand chuck?

personally I would leave that up to a machine shop but I know there are special tools for this just haven't used any myself but I have seen some posts about it on lost

I had the same. I let the machine shop remove it and install my new exhaust valves. Cost me $75 but he was a friend of mine.
