I have a 2005 Liberty crd that i need to replace a hose on... I originaly thought that it was a radiator hose but am now thinking it may be something else. My understanding is the the upper radiator hose in on the passanger side of the motor and the lower is on the driver side of the motor. Is this right? If this is right then there is a hose that runs just above the upper radiator hose. This would be the hose I need to replace. Ive asked around and we are not sure what this hose is called or what it does. Any help would be greatly appricated! Thanks everybody!

your radiator is closest to your engine, then the intercooler, and the condenser in the very front. On the passenger side the radiator hose runs from the thermostat which is near the front of the the engine on the top. It has a jumble of hoses running to it. The intercooler hose sits on top of the radiator and drops down to the side of the engine where the outlet of the turbo charger is. The intercooler hose is longer, and you can tell it is the intercooler hose because it will run to the middle heat exchanger. The intercooler inlet and outlet are near the top while the radiator has more centered in and outlets. Also the radiator has a small hose running from the coolant overflow tank, big tank with orange fluid in it, to the driver side top of the radiator. If the broken hose comes from the intercooler it will leak air when the vehicle is revved, you will be able to feel it you will also feel a lag as if the turbo never engages. A coolant hose will leak coolant while the vehicle is running and is at operating temperature. Hope that helps

See viewtopic.php?f=98&t=51045 which shows the 2 intercooler hoses in nice pretty new Samco yellow. Scroll down to the last picture in the initial post; the upper radiator hose is the black one just under the left Samco and leading from the tstat to the radiator on the passenger side. I don't recall exactly how the lower radiator hose is routed but is a rather long one that loops under the radiator from one side of the engine bay to the other.

By the way Gates makes replacement radiator hoses that are lot less expensive than OEM.
