Just want to be sure my gauge is reading correct. It is at hottest point just one notch above the 1/4 mark on my temp gauge. All runs fine, MPG has not been as good as many say they get but I can't argue. I understand with the tires and OME springs I guess I look a little but worth it and still best MPG vehicle I own. Just did exhaust full 2.5" with just one Cherrybomb pro series muffler. Intake is stock, EHM, GDE Eco tune, OME springs and 15" crager soft 8 wiht 30" BFG AT if matters.

Anyway wish I took a picture but curious if temp should get up to at least mid gauge? In NY its only been down into 30's at night and during day still at 50's+ so can't be cold enough to not get up to temp. I will shoot my meter at it an see what some temps are at engine tomorrow.

Yeah - GDE said optimal is ~190F
you're reading is about 135-140 range



a brand new factory unit will get you in the 176 area - that why all the interest in a modification - or additional inline thermostat

you dont need weird tstats mods. just put on a new OEM tstat and flush the coolant and you will be ready to go.

I had to replace the stock thermo because my gauge was also just above the one quarter range. With Michigan winters, it improved my mpg about 1-3 MPG. I do't know how many miles you have, but if you couple it with a timing belt change and a water pump replacement, you could consolidate costs.
