I was driving around town and parked for about ten minutes. Got back in and when I accelerated I got a loud clacking. NO fault codes. Sounded like a main bearing. The only thing I did was pump the fuel head and it ran fine after that. It was slightly spongy. It is a new style fuel head.

I ran fine again today. I was sitting next to a mechanic last night and he immediately suggested loose torque converter bolts. I told him I pumped the primer and he suggested water in the fuel.

I'm in Durango and will be driving back to N. Utah today. Will probably replace the fuel filter before I go.

Any ideas?

No real clue but perhaps stupid question. When you pumped the fuel head did you 1) do so until the pump got hard and 2) crack the bleeder to remove air; 3) repeat until no air. Just pumping won't get rid of air in the fuel.
