Post subject: | LOUD clacking |
I was driving around town and parked for about ten minutes. Got back in and when I accelerated I got a loud clacking. NO fault codes. Sounded like a main bearing. The only thing I did was pump the fuel head and it ran fine after that. It was slightly spongy. It is a new style fuel head. I ran fine again today. I was sitting next to a mechanic last night and he immediately suggested loose torque converter bolts. I told him I pumped the primer and he suggested water in the fuel. I'm in Durango and will be driving back to N. Utah today. Will probably replace the fuel filter before I go. Any ideas? |

No real clue but perhaps stupid question. When you pumped the fuel head did you 1) do so until the pump got hard and 2) crack the bleeder to remove air; 3) repeat until no air. Just pumping won't get rid of air in the fuel. |
