Sounds reasonable.

Just make sure it starts easily, no cranking should be required.

Mine was immaculate with 69k miles for $11k. Apparently unknown to either owner or dealer the t-stat and fan clutch were bad. Also the EGR/FCV setup was throwing a P0299 code. I went with a GDE tune instead of messing around with them.

My CRD was typical of a dealer gouging hell out of an owner. . . and still there were details they didn't fix. I would be surprised if the one you're looking at didn't need some kind of attention. I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker, but I would certainly not pay $12.5K.

See if you can talk him down in price a bit. I paid $9500 for mine. Its a 2005 CRD sport with 48000 miles on it. Wouldnt sell it for less than $14,000 now with an extra 8,000 miles. What can I say, I like the little tractor.. Besides it gets me where I want to go fishing and gets great mileage getting there.
