I had the same experience with the LCA bushings I ordered from an online parts house. But, oddly, the same thing happened when I ordered the (expensive) factory LCA assemblies and put them on, so...
I don't know, cheap Chinese rubber?

Our '05 has about 145k miles on it, and had developed torque steer, so I picked up a pair of LCAs from Auto Parts Direct To You. http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Auto-P ... 52128866AA They worked well for a week or so, and then the torque steer came back with a vengeance. I thought that perhaps the upper tri-arm was gone as well so I replaced it. Almost no change though it was a good idea since it had a torn u-joint boot.. So today, I looked at the LCA's again. The tube that the bolt goes through fits almost perfectly with no side-to-side motion but the rubber around it is about 1/4" narrower on each side. Apparently, it separated from the tube and was sliding side-to-side. I cut some 3/4" washers to fill the gap, and then filled the gap on both sides with Lexel (stronger than silicone). I'm hoping that after it cures for a week it'll be tough enough to stop the side slipping. Any one else fight with poor aftermarket parts? The OEM ones are so outrageously priced I had a hard time justifying the cost - but if this is all the better they do I can see how there may be little choice... of course, a tube of Lexel is only $7.99... ; ' ) I'll let you know how it's working in a few weeks! Make your own,use some 2" DOM and some Currie Johny Joints on each end and be done with it,maybe $150 total for both sides if you have a good welder.Rubicon Express had some TJ arms that would work(minus the swaybar but not needed in the rear anyways) but RE is gone now. |

Thanks - Mark Yeah I have those joints on both my track bars. Yeah heard about Trans buying RE,might not be the same since Trans also owns procrap. |
