OK. So not sure if this a general question or CRD specific. When I start and shut my jeep down there is a distinctly rough shake and rattle. It is worse in reverse when it is just started. It drives fine, plenty of power. It has been going on for a good while. MAP just cleaned, filter and air filter good. I am thinking it might be a motor mount or maybe something to do with the transmission...Checked the transmission fluid and its good. Other than the shake and rattle runs great. Though it just died for not reason a few days ago but started right back up and ran fine. Just wanting to get some opinions out there from some more mechanically inclined CRD owners out there.

Could be motor mounts, see http://www.greendieselengineering.com/f ... t/115.page and viewtopic.php?f=5&t=57017&p=670844&hilit=motor+mount#p670844

That said you might want to bleed the fuel filter as a bit of air in the system or iffy fuel delivery can cause odd vibration.
