I am looking for a replacement turbo. Green energy is my prefered route but my wallet says no way  . I would be interested in a used turbo if anyone here has one for sale.

I would also be interested in finding a rebuilder to send my turbo to. My local rebuilder wants $850 for a simple rebuild. He tells me that a cartridge is not available from Garrett. $850 is for a simple rebuild kit only!! No thanks....
Has anyone sent their turbo out for rebuild? If so, where did you send it and what was the cost?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Bubba

Several folks have mentioned http://www.dfispdx.com/ . I have no personal experience but have flagged them for future reference.

Does anyone have a used turbo for sale?I thought a member here had one for sale a few months ago on E-bay......
Or does anyone have first hand knowlege of a reputable rebuilder? I hate to buy a new one for $1800

Thanks go out to Pete who has first hand knowlege of BD and Mitch for giving me a link to a kit. Also Papa above, I will be looking into DFIS as well
I spoke to Green Diesel and Keith was very helpful. Sure wish I could afford one of his units

My favorite ADS diesel service shop, Everglades Diesel in Ft Lauderdale, Fl is a garrett dealer, and they said they found me a NEW turbo for $1080 or so, a darn sight better than the extortion that Mopar wants.

I'm not aware of *ANY* rebuild kits for these, or a center cartridge, so your mechanic is right about that at least. I would be hesitant to trust a rebuild kit of just the bearings, especially if the holders got out of round from the bearing failure. These turbos are obviously too close to their design limits already.
