| Post subject: | Some questions on my CRD |
Hello I have a 05 sport I have a lot of questions first off I have the front tow hooks and skid plates does that mean I have the off road package? Second I have a sun roof and when I put it new dome lights there where alot of wires is it true the KJ's with the sunroof are prewired for the evic? And Third what will it take to clear 245/75/16's I all ready have the tires so will the 2.5 of lift be enough? |

You'll have to trim a tad and pound pinch weld (check the 4x4 section for details) and I haven't installed m EVIC yet, but there are 4 wires needed for that. Good luck with your build! |

Welcome to the forum. All KJ CRDs are at least somewhat off road ready although they vary on what related options, such as tow hooks and skids, were factory installed. Any Jeep dealer can print you out a "build sheet" based on your VIN that while detail how your vehicle came from the factory; I've always been able to get that printout for free. According to the tire chart, that I cannot locate online right now, those tires will need a 2.5" lift although trim and pinch weld work may be enough per arengant. 245/70/16 is as wide as you can go without any extra work. Read the NOOB guide (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=54207) and download the FSMs from the included link. Note that the 2005 FSM lacks the pages in section 7 dealing with diesel cooling and the "diagnostic" portions of the manual (2005 diagnostic manuals were separate publications) both of which are included in the 2006 FSM BUT the 2006 FSM lacks legends or keys to most drawings. Hence I find it handy to have copies of both. Note also that some torque and fluid capacity details in the FSM are wrong. Re the EVIC I don't know. You might PM geordi as he did an after the fact EVIC install. |

You DO need the lift, to clarify. ESPECIALLY with the CRD, they extra weight has seemed to sag down the OEM springs more than a gasser |

The OME is the BEST for the money lift if you are only going with 245/75. You must pound pinch weld, and trim/bend from wheel well were it mounts to bumper. If you use stock wheels, you'll probably rub on sway bar with lift at full turn. So they WILL fit, but with some rubbing depending one what other mods you do. |

With bump stops in rear they will not, you should use the search. Many posts with pictures on pinch weld. Takes a big hammer and a knife and heat gun, pretty easy. |
