Ok, so I changed my fuel filter (stock filter) and after following the directions on a thread is this section when I went to drive my truck it is WAY down on power. The darn trans is shifting at different RPM points as well. I can barely achieve 55mph! I filled the filter with Lubro Molly diesel purge like I always do when changing the filters on my TDI Jetta. I pumped the primer and bled the system to the point of fuel squirting out the nipple. Then I tightened her up and went for a drive. I DONT GET IT! Frustrating. |

I had that problem once when running my first couple tanks of biodiesel. I think it was the bio cleaning out the fuel system and temporarily clogging the fuel filter. A simple restart solved the problem. Not sure if that helps you, but I would check the priming of your system. What is Lubro Molly diesel purge? |

Thanks. I unplugged the negative terminal resetting the computer and for whatever reason it runs fine again. Diesel purge is stuff to fill your filter with when you install a new filter. You shouldnt install a filter empty. Diesel purge cleans your system. |

I thought that you can install a new filter dry, then just prime the system to get all of the air out and fuel into the filter? That is what I did when I changed my filter. |

Yes you can install the filter dry and use the prime and purge to fill it up before restart. Have done it that way 3 times on different CRDs with no problem. 2 things to remember 1) be sure that you don't leave the old center post gasket on (if you do the double gasket will cause a massive air leak problem and 2) don't use unfiltered diesel (includes diesel from your old filter) if you like to fill your filter before install for obvious reasons. |

air air and more air.... bleed it, if it doesn't work replace the incoming fule line from the tank to the fuel head and get rid of its quick connectors. |
