Post subject:  HELP!!! How do I reset the alarm that prevents starting.

Wife and I went boating the other day and when we got back my Jeep won't start. The first time I tried it, it turned over several times and I stopped and tried a second time. That time I heard a click and nothing else. Thought the battery was low but jumping made no change and by now there was not even a click. Got a ride home and brought back my pickup and winched the Jeep on a trailer and brought it home. Had battery disconnected while I checked connections and fuses. When I hooked battery back up the dash goes crazy when I try to start it. Everything is normal until I go to the start position and then all the dash lights flash off and on whith nothing else happening. The key will lock and unlock the Jeep and the panic will go off and can be reset turning on the key. It is a 06 Liberty CRD and this is the first trouble I've had with it. Any help will be appreciated.

Howdy Mtstones Welcome to LOST

The interlock on the key will let you start - but then turn off ~10 sec later - so I don't think that's it.
I'm guessing the switch mentioned in this thread is more likely
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=61233

also when the battery in my Key fob died - the key would lock/unlock remotely - but wouldn't turn the alarm off so that might be part of the problem - but not all of it.

also you might get a better response posting in the main 'Liberty CRD...Love that Torque!!!' section - 'Tech' tends to be for solutions after things have been figured out.

Thanks ATXKJ for your quick response and suggestion to post this else where. I received a reply there that has helped. I replaced the battery. I had myself convinced that it was not, but it has been replaced and there have been no more problems sinse. Thanks also for the link to the switch fix. I'm sure I will run into that at some point in the near future. I will probably get the parts and carry them with me until I have time to replace it proactivly.

Thanks again, this is a great site!!!
