Well after a week of run around I have convinced the dealer I bought my Jeep from to replace the turbo and timing belt under warranty What I was wondering though is where would be a good place to get a replacement turbo from, the stealership wants $3500..............the dealer I bought it from is looking around for somewhere cheaper so I thought I would do the same. Thanks |

Why would the dealer replace the timing belt and turbo under warranty? |

Not the Chrysler dealer, the local used car dealer I bought the Jeep from. I bought it, drove it for 3 days and realized the turbo was gone and that the timing belt had never been replaced and was well over due. I brought it back and they brought it to a Chrysler dealer to confirm what I said. Since I bought a warranty package when I bought the Jeep it is all being covered. |

Very nice that they are living up to their agreement. As for Mopar's price for the turbo... Find another stealership, PRONTO. They are taking no less than 300% profit off you (or attempting to anyway) b/c that turbo costs THEM $1200 or so, they usually only charge $1700 which is STILL highway robbery. Look around for your local Diesel Injection Service place, see if they are a Garrett dealer. Go directly to them. Garrett dealers will be able to directly source you a replacement, I was told that they could get it for $1050, NEW. There aren't rebuilds available as far as I know and was told. |

New turbo $1144: http://www.o-f-i.com/index.php?pid=56 Rebuilt on German Ebay for EUR 490 ($550 after 19% VAT rebate, but air shipping can be very expensive, and the seller wants your rebuildable turbo) Also, the seller never explains what a "general overhaul" consists of. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Turbolader-Jeep- ... 3a690978fa |

It's warranty. Let them do the work. I would insist on oem parts. |
