I just got my new to me 05 CRD, love it.

After driving it for 3 days i realized it rides very harsh, previous owner put some 19s on it with 255/50/19 tires, Scorpians, nice tire, but ride is harsh and feels like it bottoms out on every bump.

I had a CRD til 4 months ago and had a bad crash(don't ask) and had to drive a gas Grand Cherokee for the time being until i could find another CRD. The other one drove way smoother and more comfortable than this one.

I figured it was the much larger rim and plan on selling or trading them. They're pretty sweet but not my style.

Anyway after poking arounf underneath today I found out it has Eibach lowering springs in it, about 2" lower than stock. The front bump stops have about 1" of space and the rears have 0!!!!

Omg! I need some stock springs fast and need to know how to get them in there, never worked with struts before but have donr many coil spring lifts in WJs, ZJs, and TJS.

I use my CRD for work and carry about 400-600lbs of stuff in the back.

How do I change the front springs and how do I work with the struts? Anyone have any stock springs or any recommendations that won't sag so much? Should I look for other suspension parts this guy might have changed as well?

Help and thank you in advance.

Btw I may rarely wheel it but mileage is most important, so I don't want to goto a larger tire(say more than a 235 or 245/16

for stock replacement - retmil - mentioned a Monroe quickstrut

just make sure it says CRD - stock's are 410 lbs/inch - gassers are ~ 300.

for better than stock OME - but you'll be a couple of inches taller even though the spring is only 1 1/2" taller - it's stiffer 500 lb/in but rides better.

and stock you should be able to fit 245/70/16 on any Libby - although - don't know about 'Eibach lowering springs'
