Trailer towing MPG with GDE

Took my first interstate trip yesterday towing army jeep on my 14' tandem axle trailer since installing GDE eco-tune.
My MPG was 19.64MPG

. I was easy on the torque converter/transmission by slowing down below 58MPH on most hills to allow downshift.
Would have loved to had the Full Torque tune, but I'm sure that the torque converter would not. :wink:

Towing same trailer load before GDE tune averaged 17MPG which is still pretty good, and would make the V6 gasser green with envy.

how much did this trailer and load weigh.
I pulled a 20' solid deck steel trailer with car on it and spares (est: 5300#) plus about 150# of bits in the tail of the jeep to and from the race track. fuel mileage was 16.7MPG in a v6 gasser with 6spd.

To many variables to compare..... Travel trailer has huge front end mass and weights are different.

Sorry but diesel gets better mpg especiialy while towing, period.

For example our newer ambulances are coming with the v10 gassers in them. Exact weight (almost gasers are slightly lighter) footprint, and driving characteristics as the older diesels. Gaser = 7mpg and diesel 10mpg.

For the sake of conversation and argument here are the weights:
14' equipment trailer 1530#, Jeep 2370#, Load equalizing hitch 100#, tools and floor jack roughly 50#= 4050#
No passengers in Liberty.
My friends that have Liberty gassers with automatic transmissions complain that they get lousy gas millage.

more than the trailer - the terrain will change things
a v6 towing across Kansas will get better mileage than a Diesel climbing hills.

the best comparison I saw - was Danoid - same driver, same trailer - same vacation route
