Post subject:  Part number help.... PLEASE

Does anyone know the part number of the bracket and/or pulley assembly that the engine cooling fan mounts to? This would be the part that the fan clutch screws on to.... I'm about to do my timing belt and I noticed a small amount of play.....so I figured I'd just go ahead and replace it....
I'm probably going to replace the fan clutch too while it's apart.....thinking of using the Hayden one that you guys recommend....so if anyone could give me a part number for that too I'd appreciate it....

Thanks!!!!
Tom

Hayden clutch 2905. I think the fan mounts to the crankshaft pulley dampener but I don't off hand see a part #. There is no reason this should have any play. As nearly as I can tell it's bolted on and the fan screws on to the front so if the bolts are tight and the fan is screwed on tight there should be no play unless you are headed for a crankshaft catastrophy. Are you sure the play is in that piece? I'll bet the play is in the interface between the fan and the fan clutch if the clutch is not locked up which it would not be with the engine off.

Thanks for the Hayden part number!! The fan clutch assembly bolts to an idler pulley....for lack of a better description....which not only provides a mounting spot for the fan but also has a bearing to allow for the pulley to spin.... there's only a very slight amount of play when the fan is wiggled with the engine off of course. I am getting a decent amount of play from the fan clutch itself, but as of now have no problems with it such as poor operation or anything but I'm going to replace it since it will be off anyhow and is showing signs of wear. I just figured that I'd look into replacing the bearing assembly beneath it too and be done with it.....

do yourself a favor and also pick up a 3.7l plastic fan from a boneyard - weighs NOTHING compared to the steel fan, moves the same amount of wind... Oh yea, and it doesn't cost you in MPG when you don't need it.

I was considering that too since I've got the H/D Hayden fan clutch on the way.....
