Having a major problem with my CRD. The verdict is the head is cracked. So the options are few. First where can I get either the head or the long block? Someone posted where to get a long block for a reasonable price, please repost or PM please. This is a really expensive prospect. I love the CRD but would want to believe it will last a long time to pay back the expense. I can not do the work myself, it is at a former Jeep dealer who still is authorized for repairs. They have a diesel mechanic who works on RAMs and has worked on a GC CRD but not previously the KJ CRD. I feel they will use good parts, get the special tools and charge a high but not crazy labor rate. Best I can do under the circumstances. I am in California and that makes the service availability even worse.

All help appreciated including psychiatric advice, alcohol/controlled substances, cash donations, chanting, incense burning, prayers and best wishes and, of course, technical advice.

06 CRD, 92 k miles

Check car-part.com. It is a cyber junkyard and should lead you in some direction for an engine. Also check salvage car auctions for wrecked CRDs.

I am going through the same thing.

My CRD is at the dealer getting a head gasket and new cylinder head, i know what your going through.

What happened to your cylinder head, what caused the crack?

If you can't find a replacement cylinder head, you can buy a good used one and have it machined to fit the next size up head gasket.
