Hi - just bought my first CRD ('05). Based on all the recommendations here - i ordered a GDE flash tool. It arrived last night. After alot of messing around i successfully installed the software on a Win 7 system. The device is recognized. And has the correct drivers. However, it won't link to the flash tool - i always get a time out message. Any suggestions? |

Maybe someone will know this for you here but if not, GDE has a very active forum and this has most likely been addressed. Sorry, I can't help. ![]() |

I had the same problem. If you got the tool with the blue face and you downloaded the instructions from the link at http://www.greendieselengineering.com/f ... t/112.page you have the wrong software. Call or eamail Keith at GDE or drop me an email and I'll send you the correct instructions and link plus the 2005 and 2006 communication files. |

Thank you all for the replies! papaindigo - i have the tool with the pictured in the link i.e. brown-ish. The screen, when connected to a PC is white with Blue text. So i think I have the correct software drivers..... I've been in contact with Keith - he's aware of the problem and has suggested a work-around (that would involve some shipping) I was hoping to find a solution that would let me install the tune sooner ![]() |

i ended up having to run the software as an admin. right click the shortcut, select run as administrator worked for me. |

When I got this work Laptop they sent the W-7 software to upgrade and gave me the option. I hope the W-7 discs don't rot in their packages. I will stick with XP until I have to go to W-7. |

Turns out that I had some new HW - that needed a newer version of the Flash Console SW. Wasn't bad after i had the correct software. I'll document and post the install process for Win 7 systems early next week. |
