Just saw the part time 4wd light coming on while in the 2wd position.....this only happened twice and both times SEEMED to clear up after going through all the gear selections and back to 2wd. The Jeep wasn't in any 4wd mode but the indicator light lit up as though it was.... any ideas??
Tom

I believe you will find that the light is attached to a sensor that is supposed to report the position of the transfer case lever, NOT THE ACTUAL TRANSFER CASE, so that firstly it is a matter of a simple adjustment, and secondly, it does not necessarily represent any bad juju IN the transfer case.

Kinda what I was thinking..... I'm guessing that the location of the switch for the indicator lights is somewhere by the shifter.....not the transfer case....guess I got something to do tomorrow... lol

the sensor is on top of the transfer case... do a search it is a common problem.

Access to fix is from above thru the center console. I've got a copy of the procedure with pictures. If you want a copy just send me an email, not a PM as I cannot attach things to a PM reply
