Post subject:  RRO Rockfather Deluxe
The upper control arms portion of my "Rockfather Deluxe" kit arrived from Rocky Road Outfitters.

I currently have a Rocky Road OTT (Over the Top) 2.25" kit installed, and the stock upper control arm on the passenger side has a failed ball joint and failed rear bushing, so I decided to upgrade my lift while replacing the upper control arms. Since I already had the 2.25" kit installed, I swapped in the new rear springs last week when they arrive. It seems to sit at least 1" higher in the rear now. I hope to get the rest of the kit installed this weekend and will take some pictures.

Your taking a step backwards on the lift,those coils are lower rated then your OEM coils are.Also those UCA's have been known for fitment issues and alignment issues(not to mention build quality issues,just a bad company to deal with period),not to mention those poly bushings will be loud and the grease fittings are not accessable when installed.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. :shock:

It is my understanding that the fit issues were related to the incorrect mounting of the moog ball joints. When the moog joints are mounted on the bottom, instead of the top of the upper control arms, alignment was impossible. The coil springs are OME springs and I've always heard good things about Old Man Emu. In this case they are OME790s, what's wrong with those?

The grease fittings for the Upper Control Arms and the moog joints actually seem like they would be very accessible when the arms are extended.

I had good experiences with RRO when I had a Suzuki Samurai. I guess I'll find out this weekend how well this newly redesigned RRO Rockfather Deluxe kit really is.

I installed the Rock Father Deluxe, and I was careful about the ball joint fittings being installed correctly. I was NEVER able to get the vehicle aligned correctly, and ultimately ended up replacing the control arms with another brand (Jeepin By Al). Once the replacement was complete, the alignment was effortless. The RF control arms are bad news. The rest of the suspension has worked great.

But I have to tell you, if I were going to to do it again, I would not go with the RFD. The amount of money I spent (parts and labor) to 'correct' what SHOULD HAVE WORKED, ended up exceeding how much I would have spent for a better kit to begin with.

P.S. I love my OME shocks. I had them on my Rubicon in the past, and now on my CRD. They are top-notch.
