Well let me start by saying I rarely post because I learned how to use the search feature a long while ago. That being said I have come up with a MAJOR dilemma, the CV's on my jeep are destroyed and I'm replacing them but in the process I ran into a weird issue. The Part number for the 2.4L Gas seems to be the same as the 2.8 CRD and this is across the board from Autozone.com to SummitRacing.com to Rockauto.com. There has been a discussion before here http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47307 but there was no definitive outcome. The clunking is getting rather annoying on the road and is so annoying while off-roading ive stopped going :furious: any help would be greatly appreciated, the stealership has been quite retarded with this one btw. :5SHOTS:

If you haven't tried already, go to your local napa and get REMANUFACTURED CV axles for the CRD. The new ones are made to a shorter length, but the remanned ones work as they are the correct length.

Yeah the second I get them they're coming apart, going on the lathe and getting the JBA 3/8 mod. Are you talking total length or are we talking about the cup length? That would make my day so much easier.
