Ordered Samco hoses just to play it safe with the new to us CRD. I just installed them and the ones in it seemed beyond fine as well as silicone. Not sure if perhaps a recall was done and they replaced w new moat hoses or not but I put in my Samco hoses either way. Here are a few pictures of the hoses I took out. The drivers side was super oily inside but again not a sign of cracking. And they were good. Anyway I guess I can keep them or just sell for a few bucks no. Probably could have just sent back Samco hoses for a refund but to late now. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

After a whole bunch of CAC hoses cracked Chrysler had hoses lined with an oil resistant coating. These have nothing to do with the Samco quality. And why does everybody keep posting the CRD TECH section ![]() |

I don't know if any the newer oil resistant OEM hoses were installed at the factory and it's certainly possible that a prior owner did the install. That said both my OEM hoses had the orange lining and the turbo>intercooler one was sufficiently oil soaked to drip oil like an oil soaked sponge when squeezed even though it hadn't ripped. Intercooler>engine was somewhat less bad. Love my Samcos with the routine reminder that Samcos lack the OEM hose witness marks that properly orient install. While the gross orientation is obvoius on the Samcos be sure to carefullly inspect routing before tightening clamps lest they rub on something. There are a couple of sensors on the passenger side and a gray fined sensor on the driver's side where clearance can be tight. On the hose clamps be sure they are fully on the plastic intercooler fittings, tighten them down snug with an extra twick not godzilla; drive about 50 miles and recheck tightness, should then be good to go. |

That's a factory replacement - only on the one side -Turbo to intercooler - but they hold up pretty well - mines been on for ~ 60K. they came out after production stopped - so it's a replacement. |
