 Post subject: This is oil drain, right?

While waiting for wd40 to set, the oil drain is right next to the filter, correct? With the skid plates, it's in the round cutout next to the filter. It's on very tight. 8mm hex key. When it gets off the fumoto goes on.

it kinda looks like you have skimming of oil all over the pan, do you have a slow leak like mine? viewtopic.php?f=5&t=62914

or did you recently have it undercoated?

You have the old style, aka original style, drain plug. Please make sure that the copper washer goes back with the plug. New washers and new style plugs (with an outer hex versus an inner hex) are available at the dealer.

Lots of folks here have switched to the Fumoto valve. I guess I'm too old school to make that switch.

Yeah, there must be a leak. My oil dipstick does not have a hole for max, but min and max lines. The level was below min and I added about 2/3 gallon to get it just below max. Have not driven the Jeep much since July, anticipating a timing belt change this weekend.
