Contact SirSam or Keith at GDE and see if they can help you.

I hope it won't be necessary, I'm going to exhaust my resources, before taking someone's time.

Keith at GDE has helped not only my husband, but my mechanic as well with just a simple phone call. The guy knows his stuff on these CRDs. Give him a call. It might save you hours of frustration and knuckle skinning.

HERE IS ONE THAT HAS REACHED 260,000 MILES.

The following is a Craigslist add.

2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel 4X4 - $7500 (Wartburg/Lancing)

Will not find another one like this. 260,000 miles is just now getting broken in. Gets 23 MPG around town and on these Tn curvy roads. Books for over 8400.00. Sell for 7500.00 or OBO. Minor dent shown in picture below. Call or text Roy 865-209-3200 for more info. Please no calls before 8AM or after 8PM.

Thank you

Only 20,000 miles on my 2005. No mods. I've had a few of the typical problems with it and hate the price of diesel but love the crd. Best mileage was 30 when towing a popup camper trailer. Typical mileage is maybe 25 on the highway. It spends most of it's time in the our garage. Almost time to replace the original tires. Replaced the glow plugs last year. I doubt that it'll ever see over 50,000 under my ownership.

70,000 miles, one egr valve replaced, t/c replaced. Have changed oil every 6000 miles, also fuel filter. Fuel filter head replaced every 20,000 miles. All fuilds replaced twice in drivetrain. Serpentine belt and pulleys at 50,000. Just replaced the thermostat. IMO proper maintenance is the key for the crd or for any diesel. Will be doing the timing belt ,tensioner, idler pulleys, waterpump, also all cooling hoses before the 100,000 miles. Yes I may be alittle anal on my maintenance but would rather spend an extra couple $100.00 than several $1000.00. :2cents: Happy I got her :SOMBRERO:

SEGR since 40k.
B100/blends since 40k

Repairs so far: IC hoses (Samco), Filter head (upgraded OEM), Injector seals, AC fan, thermostat, battery.

I'd like to know the answer to that one too, was it anything like mine? I lost the turbo on a super-cold morning, didn't have the knowledge or gauges at the time to understand that it may have also done severe damage to the cylinders... Blew the #1 piston to chunks and the rod put a hole in the oil pan on the test drive with a new turbo.

FYI: I'm at 125k right now.

Talked to my diesel man yesterday. He just finished putting a 2nd timing belt in a CRD recently. That Jeep had 197k he said.

My little Libby has 195,000 km or 121,000 miles. Just got him 2 weeks ago, and gone through 4 of Sam's 5. Gotta wait til payday to order the boost hoses.... Will do TB and TC and get the GDE reprogrammer to flash ECM and TCU for performance...

108'000 miles and going well.
Yes Racetracer, I replaced the timing belt at 100K

No major issues except the usual turbo hose, U-joint and a vaccum line (2 months to find what it was) that melted
Ah , yes ! Very important: a bulb from the ceiling EVIC.... i can't find a replacement !!!

Except that! I love that car and proud to drive an American car (..or IT... ) in Europe !

Original owner?

Have you done any modifications to the engine like an elephant hose modification or the GDE tune?

What grade of motor oil and filter have you been using?

How many miles before an oil change?

I am up to 193k miles now, I put a LOT of miles on. (28k in just over a year of ownership.) So if I keep her past the 200k maintenance I plan to try and hit 300k with her.
