Check your odometer for error, mine has to be multiplied by 1.115 to correct.

So far, my best average mpg over a full tank is 22mpg. This is after my GDE tune as well. It has city/hwy driving with little "hot rodding" around. I thought I could at least get 25mpg. Any ideas?? |

To be better than that - you need steady state highway. it's the acceleration to speed that really uses a lot of fuel - maintaining is easy. |

i get 30mpg on a 50 mile commute but it is all four lane at 67 mph. I have a gde eco ft tune with custom built intake a 2.5" strait exhaust. I try not to run it over 2000 rpm i can get 35 if I'm very careful but what fun is that |

I just did a 1000+ miles road trip, 90% interstate doing 70 MPH with cruise control, mine is all stock with a clean MAP and a partially faulty thermostat (meaning sometimes it's running at the right temp and sometimes runs cold) and adding 10% biodiesel per tank and got 25MPG average. I'm very happy with that. I know i could have gotten better keeping it right at 2000RPM; maybe next time I try that, it's only 3MPH slower, not that much difference in speed, we'll see what kind of difference in MPG's we get. |

Do be aware that the best mileage w/ non-hybrid vehicles is achieved with a 100% steady drive only on an expressway at highway speeds (60-65 mph in the case of a CRD Libby). Every time you apply the brakes, or accelerate, every minute you sit idling at a light, all cut mileage. The other thing to bear in mind is that HOW you drive makes as much as a 1/3 difference in your mileage. Driving at speeds below 55 (ie, not in top gear), accelerating away from a stop at anything above a "very moderate" pace, ANY stepping on the brakes whatever, all factor into it and all cut your mileage. Frequent short trips also will kill mpg. So, ok, best you've done was 22 "with only a little hot rodding." It only takes a little to cut your overall. I got 34.75 mpg on the first tank after I applied a GDE eco tune. Before that, I'd had a couple tanks at a little over 30. But those were all on trips where I filled up, pulled out on the open road, and set cruise control all the way to the next filling station. Around town I usually get around 25. But I coast up to stops as much as possible, and do a lot of other little things to save fuel. I also live far enough outside town that my Jeep usually gets warmed up before I reach town. YMMV, to be sure. 22 is not bad, but it also suggests you are doing some of the things that are known to decrease your mpg. |

Also bear in mind that winterized fuel is making its way to the stations, resulting in a few less mpg, and the colder weather makes all your fluids more viscous, which saps mileage until warmed up. |

AT is right. Take a long time to get to highway (60mph) set your cruise and you'll do better. |

It's all about staying below 2000 RPM's. Im impatient so my mileage tends to suck, maybe around 15 town with all my mods. But i have been able to pull off 20 town.. it just takes forever to get places. i've seen as high as 25 highway with my mods and f37 neutering. eco tune is first on my list now. |

ON one trip I got 34MPG with my Inmotion Stage 2 tune and stock intake. Wall to wall RADAR improves fuel economy

Get your brakes hot and jack it up quickly. I bet you will find brake drag. Rebuild without slider pin sleeves that swell and jam the pins (NOT the boots). DOC |

22 seems ok for how you are driving and you have hot tune while most of us have the eco tune. I can get 21-22 on mostly in town driving and as much as 33 on the highway. that was keeping RPM at or under 2000 and driving what ever speed that allowed. I have seen for me that I can use less fuel with out cruise sometimes. |

I also run my tires higher than door sticker recommends, I go with 36psi and I noticed a more bumpy ride but not bad, now 40 psi .... I guess I'll try that and see the difference; once I get to have enough info on the 36 PSI setting, so I can compare.... |

bone stock maf unplugged 25.6 mpg last tank. 80 miles of around and back and forth jobsite,the rest 73 crusie control. tires were 33psi. just changed oil and stepped up to 40psi as i notice sidewall rate for max load at 44psi. not going to be able to get a real mpg read as i had 75 miles on the tank when i changed oil and pressure. looking forward to eco tune and a fresh fuel and air filter soon as well. |

My speedometer reads 4mph FASTER than I actually am going. So wouldn't that make my miles traveled less than odometer is reading, thus resulting in actually lower mpg? If I applied that 1.115 it makes it 24.5mpg which seems more like it, but in reality I'm traveling less miles....which then makes my mileage 19.7. ???? |

If it's showing 4 mph faster that means it's also showing more miles on the odo so yes your only getting 19mpg. but hey look on the bright side. All your buddies driving the 3.7L liberties with your driving style are only getting 12 mpg. Do the ORM, EHM, clean your MAP sensor, Stop driving like your 18 yrs old and set your tire pressure to 44psi (maximum psi recommended) Stop wining that your Jeep rides like a Jeep and not a Cadillac. And you'll see a very noticable improvement in fuel economy. Edit: Oh sorry just noticed you have the hot tune. Well guess you just have to live with the decisions you make. |
