That doesn't look right...look at my previous post and where it ended up, it should have been after Spitfires post.

Spitfire, can you provide more info on the interface you got. I assume the seller has an E-Bay store?

I bought a slightly different knock off version a while back but I suspect that they're all the same design - you can tell its a knock off because of the price, the real ELM microprocessor alone costs $32.50. I tried it with a number of different software packages but was never able to get it to work on my 2006 though it does work with other vehicles. Not sure if it's a hardware or software incompatibility. If I could confirm that the microprocessor was the issue I'd swap it out for the real thing since the unit itself is very well made.

I believe there's also a bus difference between the 05 and 06 so what works on the 05 may not work on the 06.

Sorry for not responding sooner guys. The seller i bought it from had the slowest shipping ever. He also packaged it like crap and the cd was cracked in 4 pieces. The disk is used if you have a bluetooth capable computer.

Here is another seller with the same unit i purchased:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-OBDII-OB ... 169wt_1270

The program i used is only available for droids

compatible adapters
http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters

And a video of the program in action

When reading the real time data, are you driving? Does it kick your transmission out of overdrive?

I leave it on while driving, it actually has a feature that reverses all the text and if placed on the dash acts as a heads up display on the windshield 8) . I have not experienced any issues with the transmission or ecu acting up at all.

This set up would be excellent if the USB adaptor and software could integrate with my 7" wide screen Magellan GPS 9055. All the vital engine information I need would be there.

It would also be a great selling point for Magellan or any vehicle GPS company.

I am seeing good results for the ELM 327 for 2005 crd's but no mention for the 2006. I understand that the languages spoken by the two are different, so has any 2006 owner had success to report?

Because of the viewer demographic of this forum I strongly suspect that you wont get an answer to this question. I just ordered the Bluetooth version that Spitfire got from here: http://stores.ebay.ca/TOMTOP-Digital-Ce ... 4340.l2563

at $14 with free worldwide shipping why don't you just give it a try and let us know how you get on. They also sell the USB version that you're interested in for around the same price.

got mine in today, installed torque and the only issue I'm running into is that I'm not getting a boost reading.

I think, that because I have the ORM, that the ecm gets the boost reading from the maf, thus preventing a solid reading. Confusing part of this is that when I first plugged it in, it worked.

weird.

overall, worth the $20 for the whole shebang.

I just got a chance to hook up my ELM 327 with the "Torque" App on my Droid X and it seems to work. If anyone has trouble finding the Bluetooth pairing code, it is 6789.

Hope the boost function does not stop working as it seems to have for someone. So far, it has not locked up after five minutes like VAGCOM OBDII Generic. However, I recall VAGCOM having more paremeters such as oil temp. Can't beat the price though. And, I don't recall anyone ever claiming to have found a scanning device other than STARSCAN that will work with the KJ CRD for more than five minutes without locking up.

I plan to try it with my 2001 4WD PSD Excursion tomorrow.

Mine is running flawlessly now. :)

Here's what I get to see as I drive now! Took it on a trip for about 30mins, no hiccups or weird ecm issues.

Boost, egt, volts and coolant temp (I'm aware I need a new thermostat). :)
