I just finished installing new wheel bearings on my '05 Liberty CRD. The install went smooth, but now my ABS light is on. When I installed the new hubs I did use antiseize on the splines of the axle shaft. Could this be the cause of my ABS light?

Did the new bearing have the ABS sensor in it? Plug in the ABS connector all the way? If a cheap no-name brand the airgap for the ABS sensor maybe wrong, seen it many times at work on the cheap bearings.

Yes the new bearing had the ABS sensor in it. I went out this morning and disconnected the ABS plugs in the engine bay, cleaned them with contact cleaner and reconnected them. The connectors are tight and latched properly. The ABS light is still lit. These were not cheap hubs. NAPA premium with SKF bearings. Is there any way to change the air gap on the wheel sensors or should I just replace them with the MOPAR brand? Looks like they just get bolted to the hub and there is no adjustment.

Did you turn on your key for any reason when you were doing the swap, like to listen to the radio?
I would try disconnecting the battery for at least 5 minuets, reconnect and see if the problem goes away.
Then I would try to clear the code with an OBD-II scanner.
Last I would check the ABS sensor in the bearing with an ohm meter. If it does not test, I would talk to NAPA.

I did something similar. I keyed on the power when I had a connector off. I was metering the cable trying to find the lift pump wires.

My OBD reader doesn't do ABS but the trouble light went away after driving.
Try driving it if you haven't yet.

I did turn the key on when unlocking the steering wheel to turn the wheel for better access to the hub bolts. Did I do major damage or do I just need to clear the ABS light with a scanner? I disconnected the battery after and the light is still on. I also drove the Jeep , but the light remains on.

Check the wires to the hubs you worked on for continuity.
