My first clutch was replaced by the dealer at 80k miles. When it went it sounded like there were marbles in the front lower engine. I'm at 180k miles and it sounds like the second clutch is going bad. At idle it sounds like something with bearings is wobbling, and after it warms up there is a squealing sound every 20 seconds. If the clutch is bad, I will replace it with a Hayden. My question is how do I determine if its the clutch. With the engine off, it does not spin freely. I try to spin it and it goes only about a quarter turn. I've seen the procedure where you block the radiator and take temp readings. I was wondering if there's an alternative method.

Sir sam, i've seen that procedure. I don't have a thermometer like the one described, nor a tach or strobe light. That's why i asked if there is another way to determine if the fan clutch is bad.
