I'm looking for some help as I would like to go with 235/85R16 Mud Terrains on my stock rims, but I need a mild lift to give me the clearance for these 32" tires. I would like to go with an Old Man Emu lift since I've heard good things about their products, I just don't know how much of a lift I'll need? Also, where is a good place to buy the lift? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes you will need the OME (at least two CRD owners use them) and you will have to pound the pinch weld, add rear bump stops and might consider going to 4.10s. You can buy from LOST supports (all j products http://www.boulderbars.com/kjproducts.htm)
or JBA (http://jeepinbyal.com/)

or be cheap and source the parts off various internet stores.

I run 235/85s on my gasser. It sits at ~22 inches with my lift. I had to trim my front bumper and pound the pinch welds. I'm also running wheel spacers which may add to the rubbing.

Requires a lot of trimming.

I like em.

Thanks everybody for the help! After taking my CRD up in the mountains yesterday, I did realize that I need more clearance to get over the rocks in the road and I think the only thing to help with that is a larger diameter tire. After reading about how much of a challenge these lifts are, I'm wondering if it's all worth it? I've started considering just getting some LT225/75R16 Mud terrains to avoid the whole lift scenario, but then I'm still left bottoming out on the rocks.

For this size of tires (LT235/85R16), can I get by with a 1.5" lift, or do I need either a 2"/2.5" lift? Any more advice is greatly appreciated.
