I have seen posts using the Provent 200, but has anyone tried the cyclonic BMW design? I have seen a YouTube video and read about it on a VW TDI blog. The part is much cheaper @~$30, and the inlet/outlet is ~3/4". I am thinking about trying this b4 I pay for the Provent. |

It looks like it has 3/4" connections according to the YouTube video. I think this will work. I don't know where the bottom end could get fed back to the oil pan. In the video, it shows this fed into the dipstick tube. |

Their is one more YouTube on page 6. He doesn't hook it up to the oil tube but leaves it with the catch can. Looks very promising for our little engine!! |

I ordered the part yesterday, so we will see how it works once I get it in and get some run time on it. |

I like this thing. it looks smaller than the Provent 200 that I installed. I never did get mine mounted proper, mine is just shoved in behind the battery. and I need to find better hoses heater hose is not holding up so well but that was all the parts store had then. Anyhow this thing looks like it would be easier to mount on the passenger side closer to the turbo and CCV. I would like to see how someone would collect the oil I like the idea of a container that could be emptied like he had in the video but larger better than just the tube and bottom of the provent. Cheaper too wish I seen this 2 years ago. |

My part is on it's way and should be here nxt wk. So took advantage of some nice weather and cleaned my MAP and changed my fuel filter today. Noticeably smoother running. |

Just got mine this evening. Plan to put it in this wknd. Where did you put it? I was looking at either back by the coolant tank or in front of the air filter. |

I wonder if this would be more resistant to freezing up because of the smaller size and higher velocity. The fear of freezing up is the only reason I have not done the EHM/Provent. Here in Illinois, it gets pretty cold!!!!! John |

im up in northern canada. its cold. i put it beside the computer in that space beside the overflow for the coolant. couldnt run the hoses nicely in front of the airbox. |

Thanks. Now that I have it I plan to go to a local marine supply store to get some hose in the next few days and figure out how I want to mount it. I was thinking it might be in the way if I mounted it in front of the air box in case I ever decide to do the V6 air box install. Got new brakes and rotors on front a few days ago. The guys at the shop said it was the first Jeep CDR they had ever seen. They liked it. |
