Anybody have any idea of what this could be from? I've been hearing a weird air leak sound around 2000 rpms(only while acceleration, not maintaining speed) and the only thing i could find was this slow leak. When revved it bubbles and a little bit of oil weeps out.. im scared because i know everything on this motor costs an arm and a leg.

this is the general area

the leak is the gasket seal right by the dipstick

You might want to pm or email Sir Sam and/or geordi who have been further into this area than I but based on the pictures and what you are describing it sounds like you have a leak where the Flow Control Valve/EGR/intercooler>FCV stuff comes together on the driver's side of the engine. The noise you hear and the bubbles/oil you see on power "up" would be caused by air with a bit of oil in it being pushed out a loose seam by pressure generated by the turbo.

If I am right the fix may be as simple as torquing a few bolts or as complicated as pulling something(s) off that area and replacing a leaky gasket.

Best await more informed input but I'm reasonably sure you don't have a big or expensive problem especially if you are a bit of a DIY type as most of us on the forum are.

Im not going to tear it apart, im just hoping it will all stay together while i drive it the next few days.. we have a mechanic that has done everything on the jeep, he gets parts faster and knows it better then us, so we let him do most everything. plus he's a family friend and gives us good rates. We lack alot of the tools at our house to work on it anyway. I'll wait for someone else to chime in, hopefully its just torquing down the bolt to fix it, but god only knows what it could be.

found everything out. the noise was the alternator bracket bolts were hand loose, tightened them and the strange sounds went away. the FCV valve/port thing bolts were all very loose too, tightened them and all is well

Good, that's more or less what I figured. Keep an eye on them for a bit, you may want to add some lock washers or blue loctite if they come loose again. I wonder about vibration with those alternator bolts being loose; crank the engine up and at idle take a look down your serpentine belt toward the serp belt tensioner; if the belt or tensioner are bouncing your alternator decoupler may be on the way out. If so it needs replacing before it takes out the belt and the $200 tensioner. May not be an issue but just in case it's worth 5 minutes of your time.

Decoupler was just replaced, so either they didn't re torque the bolts, or they vibrated loose. Either way I'm going to put loctite on them later when I get the chance. Same for the fcv bolts. Thanks!
