OK So my new to me 2006 Libby has what appears to be OEM CAC hose, I had them off a little while ago to check them...all seems good...They are organge on the inside, does this mean that they are the upgraded OEM versions? how would I tell if they are or are not the OEM upgraded silcone ones?

The original style had orange insides. One in my wife"s just split at 70k, even after running the ehm for the last 40. Plus only the passengerr side was updated with a special liner. You might be able to make out a part # on the outside of the hose that will tell you, but odds are they are original and they will split - just a matter of time. Skip OEMs and get samcos to do it right.

I've of course had to replace both of mine and the turbo outlet side which blew first was updated with a black interior. When the intake side blew a year later, the updated hose was orange inside. I was careful to check that it was the revised part number when I put it in. So now I've had one black one and one orange one for more than 100K miles without issue.

The moral of this story is that you cannot tell if you have the original or updated hoses just by their color. If they are completely saturated and sweating oil on the outside then they are the original equipment and need to be replaced.
