Innova 3030 is cheap and effective for engine codes on both '05s and '06s. (Many scanners including other Innovas do NOT work with our rigs.) Make sure you print a copy of all the KJ CRD specific codes from this site and keep with your scanner.
ELM 327 adapter and TORQUE app for your cell phone or other device is even cheaper, but there are some bugs that some people are running into.

Thanks for the suggestion, Doc. I appreciate it.
One question, the Amazon write-up doesn't say whether it can clear a code. Does it?
Also, the Amazon writeup on the 3030 says that it updates every 30 seconds, so it is not 'real-time'. I have an issue with the transmission clunking when it upshifts to top gear and want to track that real time, and in any case I want to see the codes as they appear. Can you or anybody else recommend a real time scanner? I was thinking of buying the GDE flashes and their scan tool, but I'm not sure how that would work.
Advice/recommendations cheerfully welcomed!
