Post subject:  Jeep CRD cutting out fault, poss BCM unit?

Hi again
I still have the same problem with my UK sPEC 2002 2.5 crd Limited 5-speed manual that the engine stops dead on at 3250rpm in 3/4/5 gears. I have tried all sorts to cure this but to no avail. Talking to a dealer today (to part ex car) & he asked about the BCM (Body Control Module) I did take the car to Jeep as it had an outstanding recall for this item & they re-flashed it with an update, since then I have had this fault & an alarm issue but am not sure what the BCM even does, anyone out there know or think this is a possible reason. The dealer who did the re-flash has since shut (sells KIA now). The code that comes up is for over fuel pressure, It seems to think the car has blown a fuel pipe so shuts the engine down?

Many thanks

Dave, Chesterfield UK (ps, the dealer offered £1650- £2000 for the car which is half what its worth!)

The BCM has got very little to do with the engine.....it is the ECM that monitors and adjusts everything.
What exact error code do you get? I can look up the code in the 2002 2.5 CRD FSM I have to see what they suggest and if you PM me your E-mail address I can send you some PDF files for the 2002 2.5 CRD. :)

2.5 CRD files are also included in the service manual files I had hosted.
