Greets - Anybody know of an easy place to tie into the (dimming) gauge illumination circuit, preferably somewhere near the fuse panel? I'm installing some gauges directly above, on the A-Pillar. The wiring diagrams in the FSM show 5 or 6 such circuits tied into the 'junction block', which I assume is the back side of the fuse panel? I know plenty of folks have hooked up gauges, and someone has gotta know of an easy way to hook up the lighting. Thanks Doug |

Seeing as you will be laying cables to the gauges within the cover on the A pillar....I would connect the gauge lights directly to where the dimming circuitry goes into the cluster itself. I only have the circuit diagrams for the 2002/3 KJs but you can get newer diagrams I believe in Sams Noob Guide. On the 2002/3 KJ, there is an Orange wire going into the cluster connector at pin 12....this has the varying dimming voltage on it. Ground is on pin 1 at the cluster and is a Black/Light Green wire. Splice into these two wires to connect the new globes in parralel. There is a remote chance you may have to upgrade the fuse rating of this circuit...depends on how many gauges you are adding. |
