Post subject:  Tool kits for the timing belt maintenance.

Look what I found! Looks like our friends from Europe are better geared up than we are. Here's 2 tool kits that can be used to do our timing belt maintenance without too much efforts: Laser tool kit 5211 http://www.lasertools.co.uk/items/pdf/Products/5211_Instructions.pdf and Sealey VSE5056 http://www.toolsrus.co.uk/1iri/Diesel-Engine-Timing-Kits/Diesel-Engine-Timing-Kit--Chrysler-LDV-25CRD--Belt-Drive. I personally opted for the laser because the tools were almost identical copies from the VM tool kit and they didn't use chrome (don't feel like having chrome chips in my engine). The Sealey kit, somehow a bit different seems to be pretty good also. Both kits are available on ebay. I also found a great write up for changing the timing belt and the water pump: http://www.beesvillebeefarm.com/jeep.html with a lot of pictures and details. I'm getting prepared to do my own timing belt soon and I'm a bit worried to be honest. Mind you that CRD is a real learning experience for me. Basically, if you don't want to touch a wrench, the liberty CRD is not the vehicle for you. If you want to have a nice machine and modify it to your own specs while improving reliability, that's definitely a GREAT machine. One of my friend has a Mercedes ML320 diesel. He has all of the problems we deal with without any online support. (Mercedes owners don't get their hands dirty). That's what makes Jeep so different from any other brand, it's not just a vehicle, it's a bunch of people who are willing to help one another and the CRD community is really tightly knitted. Thanks to LOST !!!

That's a nice writeup you found and he's using the sort of special tools that I like to see. That cam sprocket tool must be all of about $5 worth of angle al and a couple of bolts.
